NEW: Organic Cotton Jersey Baby Dungarees

I have to admit that if someone mentions the word “dungarees” to me, strange images instantly flood my mind. Memories of myself as a young teenager in the early 90s wearing them (quickly forgotten!); the super mario brothers sporting their porn-taches and primary coloured overalls; rappers trying (and failing!) to make them look cool by wearing one strap fastened whilst the other hangs loose. Remember Mr T in the A-Team?!

Red & White Snuggly Dungarees

The ultimate item in non-flattery, I’m not even sure why dungarees are made in sizes bigger than aged 10. Little children however look absolutely adorable in them and we love the new mini-range from Little Green Radicals! Coming in 3 stripy designs, each pair is lovingly made from organic cotton jersey and is so snuggly soft that even I want a pair (would be great for sleeping in!). They have made 3 colourways: a berry and pink stripe; a grey and white stripe; and a red and white stripe. Each pair comes in sizes 0-6 months and 6-12 months but as with all their range the sizes are generous, giving plenty of room for growth. The straps are fastened using big buttons and they have poppers around the legs for quick nappy changes. Perfect when worn over the top of a babyvest and/or under a cardigan, they form a great little outfit and come priced at £16 + P&P. Enjoy!

SPOTTED! Orlando Bloom & Miranda Kerr love Aden & Anais.

We love it when a celeb or two gets spotted out and about with a product or range that we stock and unsurprisingly it tends to be celeb fave Aden and Anais that hits the headlines. We’ve been stocking their range of organic muslin swaddles for some time and they never fail to prove immensely popular. They’re so very versatile, so whilst we do hear plenty of mutterings of people wondering past our market stalls saying “oh swaddling doesn’t work”, in my mind it’s just a matter of education!

Celebs love the popular brand!

Not only do muslins make excellent swaddles, but they make outstanding general blankets, suitable for summer and winter as they help to naturally regulate the body’s temperature. Furthermore they are ideal as a sun screen over a pushchair or pram and act as a stylish privacy shield for breastfeeding. How about a burping cloth, a floor mat, a changing mat? Honestly, the possibilities are truly endless!

Our current Aden and Anais stock now come in beautiful little muslin bags with a drawstring and hanging hook, decorated with the same pattern featured on the enclosed blanket. They also feature a handy little swaddling guide and measure 47″ by 47″ – ideal for even the most wriggly babies! And after all, if Aden and Anais products are good enough for Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr, they might just be good enough for you! Priced at £20 + P&P, they are a new baby essential and an ideal gift if you’re wary about buying clothes for size issues. Take a peak, go on!

Our new-look blog – unveiled!!!

So here we are – after a week or so of manic activity, our blog has been transformed thanks to the wonderful work of Joanne Dewberry, my colleague’s boyfriend, and some final tweeks by us! I’m so thrilled with the end result – for ages I’ve been enviously looking on, wondering how people have managed to teach themselves the intricacies of WordPress and Blogspot, totally panicking that if I try anything I’ll end up taking the whole website down too. By comparison, my blog looked plain and uninspiring and so gradually I lost the motivation, not wanting to write because I didn’t want people to come and see it.

Our new-look blog!

Now I too have a blog to be proud of, and have learned a fair bit of mildly techie stuff in the process which I’m immensely proud of. I hope my learning doesn’t stop here and that the blog will continue to evolve but in the meantime, I’m thrilled and promise to write more regularly. There’s so much to say and now I’m happy to have a platform to say it from.

As a little aside, we now have a testimonials page, for anyone who has worked with us or received our goodies to leave lovely comments if they want to. All that you need to do is click the “Submit a Review” button and the rest will take care of itself. Thank you! x

NEW items from Pili Pala (and shhh…reductions too!)

Over at Team DCB we’ve well and truly got our work cut out at the moment with all the arrival of new Spring/Summer 2011 stock, which seems to have landed on our doorstep all at once! Our humble abode is now resembling a warehouse more than ever before as Mr DCB and I trip and tumble over boxes of beautiful new things! We’re trying to get it all online as fast as we can whilst trying to keep up with the daily grind which doesn’t leave as much time for DCB as we’d ideally like. However, this weekend I did make some inroads and managed to upload the beautiful new clothes recently received from our fave Welsh brand, Pili Pala.

In Welsh, Pili Pala means “butterfly” and this is beautifully represented by their clothing – on the one hand, bright and beautiful colours designed to stand out, on the other hand, a range designed to last from season to season and be handed down from sibling to sibling. We’ve taken delivery of their latest designs which include some great red and navy striped dresses and leggings, along with contrasting plain red t-shirts and dresses. There is also a super cute baby vest in navy and red, which can be matched up with hats to make a perfect new baby gift.

Customers always comment on the softness of organic cotton clothing and Pili Pala is no exception. We’re also frequently asked whether it is daywear or nightwear (in the case of the trousers/leggings/tshirts) to which we say “you decide”. It’s comfy and cosy for lounging around casualwear, but durable and warm enough to play around in the great outdoors. It’s also largely unisex and very mix ‘n’ match which makes it even better value for money as it can be swapped around from sister to brother and back again!! We really can’t compliment the brand highly enough, and being made right here in the UK it goes to show that you don’t have to have a large carbon footprint to get good quality organic cotton clothing at fair prices.

Don’t forget, we’ve also got reductions on some of the Pili Pala range with dresses reduced from £23.00 down to £11.50 and shorts reduced from £17.50 to £5.00!!! So you even have a chance to grab a piece of this fantastic clothing line at discount prices too – can’t say fairer than that!
