Earlier this year, Mr DCB and I booked a day off work and headed off to kids trade show Bubble London at its new home in Islington. We’ve hit a few shows this year but hadn’t attended Bubble before and had to do a little homework before visiting to ensure we covered all the organic ranges. One of the companies which jumped out at us was Fozia, a brand new collection from mum of two Fozia Hill - I loved the bright colours and fun polka dot patterns, and Fozia’s ethical approach to manufacturing as well as her use of 100% organic cotton was exactly what we were looking for.

Covering the ages from birth to one, every Fozia product is designed to last beyond the season in which it is sold, to remain as a staple in a baby’s wardrobe and be passed down to new brothers and sisters. The clothing has a wonderfully luxurious feel to it, benefitting from the use of 100% organic cotton which is not only more hard-wearing than standard cotton but also incredibly soft next to baby skin.

A little while ago, an Australian friend of mine who lives in the UK and is expecting her third child in July, asked if I knew where she could find large muslin wraps. Having used them in Australia where her older children were born, she was disappointed to find that all we have here in the UK are muslin squares which are much smaller and nowhere near as versatile. So I set myself a challenge to source some beautiful organic muslin swaddling wraps and after much searching, am thrilled to be adding Aden & Anais as a new brand to DaisychainBaby.

Although not yet a mum myself, I’ve spoken to many parents about the wonderful benefits of swaddling, which is an age old technique used to help babies feel safe and secure. It is designed to imitate the security of the enclosed surroundings they experienced in the womb, making them feel safer and therefore more relaxed, and also helps them to sleep on their backs which is the pediatrician recommended sleeping position. Muslin is a particularly suitable fabric for swaddling as it has a light, open weave that allows air to flow seamlessly through the material.

Aden & Anais have designed an amazing range of muslin wraps and I was so excited when I realised that they also offer 100% organic cotton muslin wraps, certified by GOTS. In an effort to champion more items which are made in the UK, we’ve been doing a lot of research lately into finding new and affordable products for DaisychainBaby. Crafting seems to have seen a resurgence in popularity of late, and with this in mind, and some good advice from friends, we decided to check out Misi and have come across a real treasure trove of lovely items.

The first of our handmade in the UK ranges comes courtesy of C&C Bandana Bibs, created by mum Channa Mills when trying to find some practical yet stylish bibs for her teething daughter. Having realised that bandana bibs were not available in the UK, she decided to make her own, and we’re delighted to be stocking some of the collection. We already know that the bibs (retailing at 3.00 each) will be a sure hit at our upcoming events and they can be purchased here.

We’re delighted to announce the arrival of some beautiful goodies from our latest stockists Olli and Lime to add to the growing collection at DaisychainBaby. Olli and Lime produce a very stylish range of children’s bedroom furnishings and accessories using signature designs and colours. They create a contemporary look which is modern and refreshing and creates a welcome alternative to the classic pastels we’re all so used to seeing! Even better, Olli and Lime adhere to our standards of producing high quality products whilst respecting the environment by using organic cotton.

We’ve chosen to add the “George” and “Billie” changing mats and bib & burp sets to our online store. All items retail at £15.00 each and can be purchased here.
